𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱, 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲: 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗙𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗹-𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘁

On 15 September, the Green Girls Platform, together with other civil society organisations in Malawi, launched the 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵-𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 – Malawi, under the theme: “This World is Ours; Ending Dirty Energy and Pushing for a Fossil-Free Future.”

This campaign centres on seven key thematic areas:

1. Climate Finance

2. Debt Justice

3. Just Energy Transition

4. Faith and Climate Justice

5. Gender Justice

6. Climate-Resilient Development

7. Livelihoods and Social Protection

As civil society organisations, young people, communities, academia, faith leaders, and climate justice movements, we stand united in demanding climate action that puts women, girls, youth, children and frontline communities at the centre of decision-making processes.

As we kick off this Global Week of Mobilisation, we call upon all Malawians to raise their voices, organise, participate, and demand climate action!
