In celebration of the 2026 International Youth Day that was on the 12th August, we celebrated the day through aerobics, yoga, and interactive games that brought us all together. It was inspiring to see youth organizations and partners show up, collaborate, and bring their top game!
At Green Girls Platform, we firmly believe that environmental advocacy and social change cannot happen in isolation. Building a strong, resilient community is essential to achieving our shared goals.
A massive thank you to our partners: Clean Cities Project, Point of Progress, Drone Society Malawi, KISU Investment, MI Technologies and Innovation, and Aerobics Fitness Centre. To our dear youth: we did it!

Climate resilience is not built through infrastructure alone. It is built when girls and young women have safe spaces to learn, lead, heal, and grow.
Last month, we brought together 50 girls and young women in Dwangwa, Nkhotakota, for an interactive session on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and leadership through our Her Resilience, Her Power project.
Through the established safe spaces in the community girls and young women are able to speak openly about the climate realities they face, understand their rights, strengthen their leadership skills, and build the confidence to become active leaders in climate action.
The girls and young women also received dignity kits containing reusable sanitary pads and hygiene products to help them as they recover and build back better.
At Green Girls Platform, we believe that resilient communities begin with girls and young women. When they have the tools, knowledge, and support to lead, they become powerful climate advocates, creating healthier communities, advancing climate justice, and shaping a greener future for all.
We are proud to implement Her Resilience, Her Power with the support of the African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF).
This Youth Month, we are celebrating the young women who are proving that safe spaces are the foundation of climate resilience!

At Green Girls Platform, we firmly believe that local solutions hold the key to driving global climate action. Across communities in Malawi, young innovators are stepping up with brilliant, home-grown ideas to tackle environmental and agricultural challenges.
We are beyond proud to announce the winner of our Innovate for Planet Earth Challenge: Stephano Malamulo!
Stephano developed Zero Chemical Agriculture, an environmentally friendly technology designed to enhance soil health without relying on harmful chemicals. As agricultural communities face the mounting pressures of land degradation and expensive synthetic inputs, innovations like Stephano’s offer a vital, natural pathway forward. Most importantly, his innovation is tailored to local needs and easily accessible for local small-scale farmers in Malawi, ensuring that grassroots communities can directly benefit from sustainable agricultural practices.
Join us in celebrating Stephanoโs incredible work and commitment to our planet! We invite our community, partners, and supporters to follow along as we continue to champion youth-led innovations that drive a greener, more resilient future for Malawi and beyond.
