About us
Empowering Girls and Young Women to Lead Malawi’s Climate Justice Movement
Who We AreAbout GGP
Green Girls Platform (GGP) we are a non-profit young women-led organization that works with girls and young women from the ages of 8-35 to address the unique challenges that they face due to climate change in Malawi. While primarily focused on this demographic, we embrace inclusivity by involving women and men in certain and limited activities. This approach underscores our commitment to diversity and collaboration, ensuring that our programs and initiatives cater to all individuals; varied needs and perspectives within communities.
Our Mission
We are determined to provide safe spaces where girls and young women can gain the skills and knowledge they need to actively participate in climate change governance and decision-making at local, national, and global levels, enabling them to develop climate-resilient solutions that work in their contexts.
Our Vision
To ensure that girls and young women in Malawi have sustainable climate resilience and empowerment strategies that enable them to fully enjoy their human rights and lift themselves out of poverty.
Our Values
Gender And Climate Change
In Malawi, many girls and young women are trapped in the cycle of poverty, facing the harsh impacts of climate change with limited resources. There is also a significant gap in climate education, affecting the ability to address the accelerating impacts of climate change. Green Girls Platform recognizes this pressing issue and stands at the forefront of sustainable solutions.
